Welcome To Eden Season 2 Ending Explained- Are They Aliens Real, Isaac’s Secret, The Computer Transmission, And All The Best Theories

Netflix’s oddball series with more twists and secrets than characters-and there are tons of characters returns with an illuminating Welcome To Eden Season 2. The alien conspiracy, creepy cult, and artificial intelligence mystery have given way to a murderous woman running a cult for power and control over the world. It’s disappointing that all the theories turned out to be wrong. Ultimately, it’s just the typical dominion-hungry person taking advantage of the vulnerable. Astrid, the leader of the cult, mostly believes the nonsense she spews, but she has become obsessed with control. She wants possession over Erick, her people, and ultimately the world. However, it’s not enough for her group to obey blindly. They must also love her. The alternative is a violent death designed to make an example for others and cause pain. Rebellion has consequences.

Welcome To Eden Season 2

At the end of Welcome To Eden Season 1, Zoa and Charly’s plan to escape is interrupted by Zoa seeing her sister arrive on the island. Wanting to protect her sister, Zoa stays, and Charly gets picked up by a boat. Not surprisingly, Gabi, going by Molly, and Som, get chosen to drink Blue Eden, and the rest of the partiers return home. Quickly she catches Astrid’s eye, who begins grooming her. It isn’t long before Zoa becomes worried for her sister: alcohol, drug use, and targeted manipulation. Unfortunately, Charly doesn’t fare much better. He was picked up by Astrid’s security and thrown in the same jail that Africa was thrown in after she found the secret server room that sends a message into space.

Astrid rules with an iron fist. Saying no or questioning her authority is not an option. Orders are expected to be followed even when people know they aren’t right. Alma learns this firsthand when she lets Eloy go instead of killing him. Nico loses his life trying to earn her good graces by delivering information on Saul, who is part of Lilith. He wants to avenge his mentor, one of the group’s original founders and the inventor of Blue Eden. She intended it to be used to unlock minds and free spirits, but instead, it is being used to brainwash cult members. When she went against Astrid, she was killed.

When Saul attacks Astrid, Mayka lets Africa and Charly out of the cell, and they go to the tribunal, where Africa saves Astrid’s life. Because she saved Astrid, her life is spared, and she is made a servant of Erick and Astrid. Mayka convinces them also to spare Charly, who is blackmailed into linking with Som. Eloy, who had befriended Issac in the cave, returns with him to confront his parents. Isaac convinces Astrid and Erick to let Eloy rejoin the group, and Astrid devises a plan to get the group back under control while Zoa and Bel conspire against her.

The problem with ruling by fear and lies is eventually, anger and hope outweigh the fear, and the truth always comes out. Astrid learns this the hard way when she first makes a big show of introducing Isaac as their son(he’s not) and later uses the promise of the aliens’ message to regalvanize her cult. It works for some, but there are too many moving parts for everyone to fall in line. Erick’s disgusting fu*kboy ways cause Africa to stay quiet. A large contingency of others know the truth about Astrid and work together to get rid of her once and for all.

The ending of Welcome To Eden Season 2 Explained

While everything is happening on the island, Ibon’s mother, Gabi and Zoa’s mother, and Charly’s brother have been searching for them. Astrid overplays her hand when she sends Leon to kill Charly’s brother when he breaks up with Som. She underestimates Brisa, who stops him, and he tells her about New Eden and where everyone is being held.

Zoa, Bel, Ibon, Orson, Eloy, and Eva make a plan to steal the explosives and kill Astrid. They are ready to sacrifice themselves to kill her. When they arrive at Nuria’s, Astrid arrives but with Issac. Both Nuria and Zoa are willing to sacrifice him, but Bel is not. Astrid uses that to tell Isaac his mother was willing to kill him, and he decides to stay with her permanently. Earlier, Zoa had told Gabi about the plan and to stay away from Astrid. Gabi’s brainwashing was complete, though, and she betrayed her sister by telling Astrid about the plan. This allowed Astrid the opportunity to disable the bombs. Despite telling Isaac, Nuria would be let go, Astrid had her executed anyway.

We should have known it would be the person we least expected to betray the group. Astrid’s mind control is powerful. She has Alma brainwashed completely, and so many others have made horrible decisions on her behalf. It’s the ultimate betrayal and one Zoa never saw coming. Gabi tells Astrid about the resistance’s plan to kill her, giving Astrid enough time to round up the rebels and thwart their plan.

In a fascinating and ironic twist, Som, who was selected with Gabi/Molly to join the group, was a terrible choice. Her father is the one who killed Astrid’s father. Astrid brought her to the island to get revenge on Mr. Sisuk. Egomaniacal Astrid believed she could turn the girl and keep her on the island forever, destroying Mr. Sisuk. She was very wrong. It’s not the first mistake she makes because she also thinks Bel and Zoa will betray the others and tries a series of mind games on Bel that do not work at all.

Surprisingly, Danae is the one who killed Astrid’s father at the behest of Mr. Sisuk all those years ago. She has been working against the group from the beginning. Som is not as naive as she seems and has been pretending to be docile and compliant. She had a chip implanted in her shoulder that Danae removed and used to access the computer system. Isaac catches her, but we don’t know why he is there or what they are attempting to do.

Africa is pregnant with Erick’s child, who left her for his family. She thought they were in love, but she was just one of many flings for him. He chooses to stay with Astrid and protect his family and the cause even though he knows it is a lie. Considering that the last person who had a child with Erick was forced into servitude, it doesn’t look good for Africa. Nuria let them lie about her and keep her exiled with Isaac for all those years. Africa is far less compliant and knows the truth. She will be much harder to control. She should mess up Astrid’s plans if there is a Welcome To Eden Season 3.

Just as Bel and Zoa are to be executed, Brisa arrives in a helicopter. Astrid pastes on a smile and prepares to welcome her guests, but she isn’t equipped to handle Brisa. Our group is safe now, but a war is coming, and the rebellion finally has some reinforcements.

Are there aliens?

The cult seems to think so, but there haven’t been any UFO sitings as of yet. Astrid has been lying about everything, and now a lot of people know. Africa told Erick, who decided to leave her but then changed his mind. Alma is a true believer, and Gabi wants to believe, but many others have doubts or know she is a liar. Astrid may have become convinced there are aliens because her father told her so many times. Her father could have brainwashed her. If Astrid’s father had communicated with aliens years ago, he might have been trying to send the coordinates to Astrid before he was driven off the road. Why he didn’t tell her earlier, we don’t know.

The chip taken out of Som and uploaded into the system received a welcome message at the end of the transmission at the end of Welcome To Eden Season 2. After all the subterfuge, there could be extraterrestrials on the other end. Even if there are aliens, though, they would be disgusted by Astrid, who is not enlightened at all and has no trouble raping the Earth for their blue drink that they use to control kids.

Who is Isaac?

Isaac is Nuria and Erick’s child. Astrid claimed he was hers, but she is unable to have children and lied about his genealogy. Years ago, Astrid’s father was out with Isaac when he was attacked. He tried to upload something to his phone just before his car went off a cliff. Astrid saved Isaac, which is what the red marks on his forehead are. Isaac is not an alien or an AI. He is an innocent isolated boy with a scar from a traumatic event.

What did Danae upload into the computer at the end of Welcome To Eden Season 2?

We don’t know what was uploaded, but it probably had something to do with whatever was captured by Mr. Sisuk when he killed Astri’s father. There is the possibility that Astrid’s father had the key to talk to the aliens and was trying to send it to Astrid before he died. When Mr. Sisuk had Danae and Som infiltrate the group and upload the chip into the system, he might have made contact. Something answered Hello Eden at the end of the upload or transmission. Was it aliens? Did Mr. Sisuk answer on his end? Why does Isaac go to the control room and look so haunted by what he finds there?

Astrid has lost control. There are too many people who know the truth now. She also has weaknesses in Isaac, who doesn’t seem to fully trust her, and Erick, who has another baby on the way. Gabi was pushed too far and is no longer Astrid’s puppet. She thinks of Astrid as her mother but isn’t willing to give up on Zoa, so there is still hope. Danae and Som are actively plotting against her, and Brisa comes to the island with a deceptively dangerous army of her own. She will be furious when she finds out what has happened. She may look like a middle-aged mother but is much more than that. The ending of Welcome To Eden Season 2 is the beginning of the end for Astrid. Find all our Welcome To Eden coverage here.
