Servant Season 2 Episode 7 Marino Explained- All Of Season 2’s Important Details- The Bible Passages And All Your Biggest Questions

This singular series is like nothing else on television. Everything from the gorgeous fashion, insane dialogue(particularly from Rupert Grint’s Julian), copious amounts of alcohol, stunning dishes prepared by Sean(Toby Kebbell), and unbelievable camera angles is singularly impressive. This series is made for carnivores of the weird, creepy, and utterly mesmerizing. It is near perfection, and the perfectly paced season 2 has delivered seven episodes with plenty to chew on. Here are all the most critical details from the last seven episodes. Servant Season 2 is delivering us a plateful of molecular gastronomy.

Servant Season 2 Episode 7 didn’t hold anything back. The Marino’s are dead, with only young Sergio unaccounted for. Everyone else was shot and left for dead. Uncle George is convinced it is all Leanne’s doing, and Dorothy is holding on to believing she can get her dead baby back. When Officer Reyes knocks on the door, the trio scrambles to hide Uncle George and keep Officer Reyes occupied. In a fantastically orchestrated Noises Off episode, the group takes turns distracting Reyes while trying to keep George silent. after checking the attic and finding way too many straw dolls, she pleads with Sean to get Dorothy some help before she snaps and shoots everyone like Mr. Marino.

Leanne beats herself with a fishing rod to atone for her sins. She believes by allowing the Turner’s to keep her and making the attic habitable, she caused the Marino’s tragedy to happen. A brief flashback showed just how invested in Sergio she was. When whipping failed to allay her fears, she made countless straw crosses and hung them everywhere. Unfortunately, soon after making all the crosses, she finds out Sergio was found dead. In a rage, she tore all her dolls down.

Sean is continuing to passively help Uncle George in exchange for healing his hand with Crisco, dried mushrooms, and spit. It appears to be working, too, which makes me think all resurrected people come back with some ability. George may not be able to restore the dead, but he can heal a nasty burn.

The cult dropped off a package for Uncle George containing a Betamax tape that should tell Leanne what she should do to make things right. Dorothy sees a note inside and realizes her ploy worked. She called their bluff, and they responded. What she doesn’t realize is under the tape, there were a dagger and some small vials. They all should be worried because, one way or another, someone is going to bleed.

What is Leanne?

The jury is still out on the tiny brunette. There can be no doubt at this point that she has absolute power, and it is manifesting at the Turner’s house. Between the Christmas lights, cracked foundations, and now broken window, Leanne seems to be going by way of Carrie. Whether she can resurrect the dead we still don’t know although it certainly seems like she can and Uncle George says she can. It is hard to trust the disheveled shambling man, though. More than likely, the cult passes abilities from one to another through resurrection. Each time someone is reborn, they gain some ability. Some have more than others, and each one is different, but Leanne appears to be one of the most powerful.

She may have caused the fire that killed her family, making her uniquely gifted, or she was also killed by the fire and came back with the telekinetic powers and Lazarus powers she currently has. Whether she is an angel or a demon, we don’t know. We have no way of knowing where her powers came from. The things she has done so far could be good or evil. Even angels can get angry, and sometimes a devil can choose to do good. Just ask Netflix’s Lucifer. Only time will tell if she is worshipping He Who Walks Behind The Rows or a more benevolent God.

All the bible versus in Servant Season 2

Season one was full of quite a few passages and references. Season 2 took a far more direct approach, and they came flying out of Uncle George’s mouth almost every time he spoke. In Season 2, Episode 1, long before Uncle George and Leanne came back to the house; Sean finds Leanne’s bible in her old room. She had written his name next to Leviticus 13:3, which is the Test for Leprosy. Leanne has judged Sean as unclean.

In Episode 4, there is a completely innocuous comment about there being a shortage of tomato soup. We know Leanne loves it, but I find it hard to believe she bought up all the tomato soup in Philadelphia. Furthermore, we know Uncle George never eats tomatoes. Knowing tomatoes are considered an important Christain fruit, are there others like Leanne who eat ridiculous tomato soup sums?

Episode 5 brought us a reference to the Epiphany. The epiphany is the time between Lent and Easter and celebrates the three Kings, or wise men bring gifts to baby Jesus. King Cakes are often made in the South to coincide with this time. Finally, Season 6 brought a bounty of passages. George walked into the house and immediately began slinging holy verse. He spoke Deuteronomy 24:14 when Julian threatened to hurt him.

It is another reminder that the Turner’s money can’t protect them from the Church, Leanne, or God. All of the bible verses used throughout the entire series have been judgments and guides on clean living. We may very well be looking at this whole thing the wrong way. The cult may not be the devils we think they are. With each reveal about the Turners, they become more flawed. Julian, of course, is the exception. He is sublime no matter what he does.

Servant Season 2 has been heavy with religious hints and maddening puzzle pieces that seem to fit nowhere. Where is this story going? With only three episodes left in the season, answers are coming fast. I just hope we are ready when they do.
