Servant Season 3 Episode 5 Tiger Review- Everything You Need To Know About The Kids And Termites
We all wear masks of one sort or another. The makeup we apply, the clothing we choose, even the smiles we fake all serve to project a certain image. In Servant Season 3 Episode 5, that image is strength, and by the end of the episode, Leanne has declared war. Here’s everything you need to know about the growing threat to Leanne and the Turners.
Another couple of weeks have passed, and Leanne is feeling safer. Dorothy has organized an elaborate block party for the neighborhood that includes everything anyone could ever want. Food trucks, face painting, bouncy houses, live bands, contests, and ax throwing. Leanne is donning her armor in the way of Dorothy’s overalls and is throwing caution to the wind. For a while, the event is pleasant until danger starts spilling in from every side.
Dorothy
Dorothy’s nemesis at work Isabelle arrives to report on the party. However, before she can get started, Dorothy grabs Jericho and takes over. Julian warns her about showing the baby’s face on television, but Dorothy is stubborn and single-minded and refuses to listen. As it turns out, the Church of Lesser Saints is already there. That doesn’t mean there isn’t some risk with Isabelle, though. Not only does she spend time gossiping with a nasty neighbor, but she also finds Leanne’s missing poster online. That could be a problem for Leanne and the Turners for many reasons.
Sean
Sean has changed a lot since we first met him in Season 1. He isn’t the same selfish, ambitious career man he was. He has changed so much that he hangs up on a producer for Gourmet Gauntlet who wanted him to host a new spin-off show. Why he looked so panicked when doing so, we don’t know, but he appears to have chosen to remain with his family than be tempted by his career.
Since finding God, Sean has begun taking Jericho to church. He has been keeping all of this from everyone, but when Pastor Nancy(curiously with no last name) introduces herself to Leanne at the block party, Sean’s secret is out. He kept it a secret because he thought Leanne would ridicule him. In fairness, she seems very resistant to the idea of religion and does mock him. When he questions her about why she baptized Jericho, she says it was a gesture only. For her, the baptism was part of the show of parenthood. It wasn’t spiritual. It’s a typical strategy for the superficial, myopic socialite.
Leanne
Leanne has her face painted and tells the painter her mother gave her the overalls she is wearing. For all her flaws, Leanne clearly thinks of Dorothy as her mother by Servant Season 3 Episode 5. This could be a real problem if Leanne was responsible for the fire that killed her mother. It’s only a matter of time before Dorothy does something stupid again and angers Leanne.
The homeless park kids crashed the party scaring Leanne, but they were made to leave. They weren’t necessarily the ones she should be scared of, though. In a heartbreaking turn of events, Leanne’s day went from creepy, to truly enjoyable, and ended in devastation and anger. She was able to ignore the strange person who touched her forehead at the painter’s tent. When Tobey found her, the two shared a genuine afternoon of youthful fun. It is the first time we have ever seen her so young and happy. For a short time, she had zero fear.
Leanne wanders off to get food and finds two cult members instead. They chase her through the house and into the park, attacking her. The kids are there, but we have no idea what role they play. Leanne survives somehow bloodied and bruised and sporting a nasty head wound. We see some of her attack but not how she survived. Shortly after she returned from the park, the light in the backyard turned back on. Does Leanne control electricity or just a coincidence? Did Leanne kill the two cult members, or did the kids intervene?
We don’t see those kids again, and it hardly seems plausible that Leanne took on both cult members by herself. It also wouldn’t be reasonable to assume she took out an entire park’s worth of homeless kids. Even those kids didn’t protect her; they may provide her power like a battery. They might also act as a clean-up crew for her. Leanne could not leave two dead bodies in the park behind her house.
Termites
Termites are mentioned in the bible in the Letter of Jeremiah 1:20. The souls of the wicked are eaten way just as the wooden beams are destroyed in their temple. Termites are also discussed as something that is very tiny, but when combined as an entire colony, they are extremely destructive. Termite colonies have one Queen who acts as the sole source of reproduction, with the soldier and worker insects making up the rest of the colony.
If Leanne is the Queen, is it possible the homeless park kids are her colony? We know their numbers grow every day. It’s important to note that termites live in damp, dark places. They leave a trail of debris behind them. Uncle George and the anonymous finger of the person who touched Leanne in the face painting tent are both very filthy. Were the colony soldiers’ women, the men the workers, and Leanne was their Queen? Is this why they are so desperate to get her back?
As usual, there is a lot to unpack. How they manage to shove so much into twenty-six minutes, I will never know, but each moment of Servant Season 3 Episode 5 was layered with details and enhanced by fear. Leanne’s chase scene was genuinely frightening. Even though we all knew Leanne would be okay, the danger felt real. It looks like the cult has woken the inner beast in Leanne, though. She is applying her warpaint and preparing for war. But, unfortunately, they don’t realize what they have done. Find all our Servant coverage here.
