Universal Studios Resorts Halloween Horror Nights Food Sneak Peak
Universal Studios Resorts Halloween Horror Nights is serving up more than just scares this fall. With all of the food stands nearly done and the tribute store open, the food scene is really coming into picture. It’s not just about the haunted houses and scare zones. The food is a big part of the reason we love Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights. The specialty items you can get this year are inspired by the all-new terrifying experiences Universal has cooked up.
Beginning September 3rd in Orlando and September 9th in Hollywood, you can be a guest in Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House’s famous Red Room. Treat yourself to the carnivorous delights of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, or bring your plus one to the Bride of Frankenstein’s bash. The Tooth Fairy will rot your teeth with their confections and clown around with some of Jack’s favorite snacks. Halloween Horror Nights has something for every taste.
Let the pumpkins be your dietary guide in Wicked Growth, Realm of the Pumpkins, and of corpse; I mean, of course, Universal will have all of your returning Halloween favorites. Additionally, Citywalk’s Voodoo Donuts will feature the Bride of Frankenstein Marble Cake Donut. This insane concoction is a marble cake donut dipped in decadent chocolate and vanilla icing. Or get entranced by Dracula’s Kiss. This traditional yeast donut is covered in powder sugar with a blood-red cherry filling sure to have you drooling for more.
At Universal Studios Orlando in the Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store, you can purchase Pumpkin Cocoa Bombs to make your hot chocolate even better. Also, grab some graveyard cupcakes and Jack the Clown and Chance Mason jar treats, or if you are feeling thirsty, grab yourself an exclusive Freestyle Coco-Cola Fanta Flavoween mix including Fanta Strawberry Scary Skull, Orange Fanta Jack O’ Lantern, or Fanta Grape Goblin.
Leatherface brings all his best meat to the cannibal family dinner party with his Roasted Lamb Spit. This lamb is no longer screaming but tastes delicious in your mouth cooked over a spit and served with garlic spiced pickles and white bread. If BBQ is more your thing, try his Severed Ribs. The sticky sliced ribs are smothered in BBQ sauce and are sure to have you licking your fingers.
The OG host of Halloween Horror Nights Jack the Clown returns and brings his classic carnival fare. Here you can get Dr. Pinetti’s Confetti Battered Oreos. Oreo cookies are covered in confetti cake batter and deep-fried until perfectly golden. They are then topped with powdered sugar. The deep-frying continues with Tiny’s Twinkies. Nothing makes a cream-filled Twinkie better than hand battering and deep-frying it. Finally, they get topped with powered sugar as if it wasn’t sweet enough. The Jack’d Donut Slider sandwiches a Black Angus beef patty, American cheese, and bacon jam between 2 bourbon glazed donuts.
The Bride of Frankenstein wants you to try her black and white themed treats with the Bride of Frankenstein Swirl served in a black waffle cone or her Reibekuchen, which is a savory potato pancake topped with all the best flavors of fall. To balance it all out, Apple sauce, crispy pumpernickel crumble, and a dollop of creme fraise and chives. Lastly, try her Flammkuchen, a delicious crispy flatbread with cream fraise, smoked bacon, and thinly sliced onions.
Halloween Horror Nights fan-favorite returners include Pizza Fries. The gut-busting dish of fries, sausage, pepperoni, marinara sauce, and tons of melty cheese is everything you never knew you wanted. Twisted Tator with sour cream and chives, Seasoned Salt, Garlic Parmesan, or Ghost Pepper seasoning. Adventurous eaters can even try the Blood and Guts Twisted Tator with chili and roasted red pepper queso. If sweeter fries are more your thing, try the S’mores Fries made from sweet potato fries drizzled in chocolate, graham cracker crumbs, and marshmallows. Don’t forget your Ghoul Juice, a dark rum-based drink with cherry brandy, lime, and allspice bitters. At just $14.99 with a souvenir cup, it’s a steal.
Return home missing a few teeth with The Revenge of the Tooth Fairies delights created for both your sweet and salty teeth. The Bourbon Candied Pork Belly is a skewered, thick-sliced piece of apple bourbon candied bacon. Another handheld treat ensures you can still run for your life while chowing down. The Monte Cristo Walking Stick is a ham and swiss cheese-filled waffle on a stick topped with powdered sugar and raspberry melba. How about a beer float with a massive helping of mouthwatering vanilla soft serve ice cream and topped with either a dried orange wheel or big pieces of crunchy peanut brittle. Yummy!
Wicked Growth: The Realm of the Pumpkins invites you to try their Pumpkin Lord’s best. A vegan treat(unless you’re a pumpkin, of course) Pumpkin Guts, which is sauteed zucchini and butternut squash ribbons in brown hazelnut butter sauce spiced with sage, parsley, toasted hazelnuts, and pumpkins seeds served in a cool pumpkin ring, is an unexpected joy. The Field of Screams Gyoza is a dish of tasty dumplings filled with spicy ground turkey and butternut squash and sure to be a crowd-pleaser. The Dulce Pumpkin Spiced Churro is a fresh spin on the churro. These fried treats will be filled with all your favorite flavors of the season and the creamy caramelized milk confection.
Lastly, my favorite treats at Halloween Horror NIghts are inspired by Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House beckons you to the last tea party you will ever attend in the Red Room. Grab a Tempeh Reuben, and Sauerkraut filled with vegan swiss cheese, tempeh, and sauerkraut on rye bread and drizzled with 1000 Island dressing or indulge in a Stuffed Brisquit Grilled Cheese.
The smoked brisket sandwich has pepper jack cheese, pickled onions, Davina tomatoes, and garlic aioli on country loaf bread. Next, have a Jalapeno Bacon Grilled Cheese, which is a twist on the traditional grilled cheese. Bacon-wrapped Jalapeno poppers and cheddar cheese are pressed flat between two slices of country loaf bread. Finally, no tea party would be complete without a potion. The Poison Tea Party is a mix of iced tea and lemonade-based rum punch with mountain huckleberry and hints of allspice. The deadly cocktail will dazzle your tastebuds and warp your mind.
