The Horror Pod Class Episode 144: Someone’s Watching Me Live From The Stray Cat

Audio is wonky this week folks. Sorry about that! Enjoy the episode and come see us in person.

Tyler: Hey everybody this is Tyler Unsell and…

Orrin:  This is Orrin Grey

Tyler: And Welcome to The Horror Pod Class

Tyler: Every two weeks Orrin and I get to gather to discuss how our featured horror movie might be used in the classroom. Tonight we move downtown and experience urban apartment life the way god intended. Full of noisy neighbors and with a ton of creepy dudes with telescopes as we dive into Someone is Watching Me directed by the legend himself John Carpenter.

Before that…What are we watching

Orrin:  A bunch of screeners in advance of Panic Fest, which starts this weekend, but I’m not really allowed to talk about most of them yet.

Tyler:  The Aviary. REALLY GOOD. Comes out on Friday VOD. First time directors.

Starring Malin (ma-lynn) Ackerman from Final Girls and lots of stuff.

Essential Question: What role do tall apartment buildings play in horror movies. OR man Me Too would have loved this movie….I think

THIS IS A STRETCCCCCCCHHHH to call the new halloween movies METOO movies

“Rape is when a man consciously keeps a woman in fear.”

The way that the stalker’s behavior is simply an escalation of the bullshit that Hutton’s character already deals with every day – and the way that same behavior provides a cover for the stalker’s actions = rape culture.
